Call screen (*60):
Your phone can be programmed to reject calls from selected numbers with a service called call screen (Phone companies might use different names). Instead of ringing on your line, these calls are routed to a recording that tells the caller you will not take the call.
With Call Screen, you can also program your telephone to reject calls from the number of last person who called. This allows you to block calls even if you do not know the phone number. Most phone companies charge a monthly fee for this service.
However, Call Screen is not a foolproof way to stop unwelcome calls. A determined caller can move to a different phone number to bypass the block. Also, Call Screen does not work on long distance calls from outside your service area.
You can also use Priority Ringing:
You can assign a special ring to calls from up to 10 numbers – calls you are most likely to want to answer. The rest can be routed to voice mail. There are ways callers can get around Priority Ringing when it is used as a screening tool. Harasser can switch phone lines and avoid the distinctive ring.
You can try Call Return (*69):
This service allows you to call back the number of last person who called, even if you are unable to answer the phone. Some people suggest that call return can be used to stop harassing callers by allowing you to call the harasser back without knowing their phone number. Use caution with this method of discouraging harassing callers, however, as it could actually aggravate the problem. This service is paid on a per-use basis.
You can use caller id to identify the caller if they are not blocking their number or use a service offered by most phone companies called Privacy Manager. It works with Caller ID to identify incoming calls that have no telephone numbers. Calls identified as “anonymous,” unavailable,” out of area” or “private” must identify themselves in order to complete the call.
Before your phone rings, a recorded message instructs the caller to unblock the call, enter a code number (like inbound call blocking devices mentioned above), or record their name. When your phone rings, you can choose to accept or reject the call, send it to voice mail, or send a special message to telemarketers instructing them to put you on their “do not call” list.
What does it mean when sometimes my phone rings and there is no one on the line?
Oftentimes, when you receive frequent hang ups on your phone line it could be that someone is checking to see if you are home or its simply harassment. It could also be calls from telemarketers who use computers for “predictive dialing” to call consumers where the computer dials many phone numbers in a short period of time. When anyone answers, the computer finds a sales representative who is not occupied at that time and connects the call.
If all sales reps are busy then consumer may hear only silence. These type of calls are called “abandoned calls.” If you are receiving many abandoned calls in a day, you can call the annoyance department of your local phone company. If these repeated calls are from a malicious individual who is harassing you rather than a telemarketer, the phone company will generally report the number to law enforcement.

Avoid too much exposure to the sun

It is imperative that you use a sun block when outside for any length of time even though you may not think you need it. Some collars are designed especially for training like the choke chain and this works exactly how it sounds. It is a chain linked collar that chokes your dog when it reaches to far. Some people regard them as a wonderful teaching aid, others regard them as cruel.
Another type of collar is what is called a head collar. This collar is placed on your dog’s head and helps to prevent the dog from pulling when being walked. It is designed to only be used when walking your dog and not for everyday wear.
Always make sure that the dog collar fits properly by sticking your fingers underneath the collar. If a couple of your fingers can fit between the dog collar and your dog’s neck, then it is fitted properly. If you cannot then the dog collar is too tight.

Irritation, redness and dryness are a number of side effects to consider with this option. A particular issue with them is the fact that they are formed by what is known as the herpes simplex virus and new cold sores are formed when these herpes virus’ get into the healthy cells of the body. It then stimulates these cells to form new incidences of the virus, spreading throughout the body at the same time. When there are too many of the viruses building up in one particular area, they form a cold sore.
One of the most dangerous aspects of a cold sore is the fact that it is incredibly contagious. It remains contagious during the entire two or three weeks that they are visible. Any one who comes in contact with the fluid that leaks out of the sore has a very large chance of being infected, and once infected, they can never be rid of the virus. The virus will also be present in all of your bodily fluids, including semen, vaginal fluids, and saliva.
If you are pregnant, the cold sore presents another danger. Because the virus is present in vaginal fluids, doctors will not allow you to have a vaginal delivery. This is because it is possible the baby could become infected with herpes during birth. In fact, the baby could actually get herpes in his or her eyes, a very real threat that could cause blindness.
Cold sores in the eyes, in fact, can cause permanent damage to anyone, not simply babies. If the sores spread to your eyes, you may find yourself facing permanent blindness as they can damage your cornea. While cold sores don’t often appear on the eyes naturally, the virus can move to your eyes if you wipe your eyes with a towel or your fingers after touching it.
As you can see, a cold sore can indeed be very dangerous, especially if you aren’t careful. You should do your best to keep your hands clean; wash them frequently, especially if you touch the area around your cold sore.

Like most children though, puppies don’t like to sit still and they are just way too curious to be still! This is no cause though to ignore cutting your puppy’s toe nails. By not cutting their nails they can grow and splitter and become sore and infected. If you are looking for some denim dog skirt then be sure to pick up some right now!
They can even get caught on other things that could rip the nail to the nerve or artery causing grave injury to your puppy. It is very easy, even with the most rambunctious of puppies to trim their nails with a few easy guidelines. First off, get your puppy associated in a positive way with you holding them on your lap and touching their paws. You can easily find some pink dog dresses right away for your new puppy!
This could be done as a play activity. The point is to get them familiar with you touching and holding their paws. So as a first guideline touch your puppy’s paw while using your clicker and click the same time you are touching their paws.Then give them a treat. If your pup pulls back, go a bit slower. You want them to be at ease during this.
Secondly, once your dog is comfortable with having his paw touched, push the envelope a bit further by picking up his paw and moving it around. Whenever he lets you do so without flinching, click and offer a treat. This is giving your dog a positive association to go with this experience. Now it is time to introduce the nail clipper to your puppy, but do not click just yet!
The first stage in the process is to get the dog used to having this shiny piece of metal up and close around its paws. Whenever he sniffs at the nail trimmer and does not appear to be scared, click and offer a treat. This can seem like a lot of work, but your patience will be rewarded! The next baby step in this process is to fit the nail clipper over each of your puppy’s nails, but without clipping. Just add a little pressure. And again, click and treat when he appears to accept this activity. Also you will want to be sure to pick up some heated dog bed right away for your loving pet.
Finally you are ready, so in this last step, clip the first nail, click your clicker, and offer a treat to your puppy. Be sure to be enthusiastic with lots of affection. When you feel he is ready for the next nail, move forward and clip the rest in a timed fashion. Remember to go slow and make the process fun.
