How to Deal With Pesky Unwanted Calls

Posted by Dan on Jan 31, 2009 in Lucky Hit

To avoid unwanted calls you can use many services offered by your phone company.

Call screen (*60):
Your phone can be programmed to reject calls from selected numbers with a service called call screen (Phone companies might use different names). Instead of ringing on your line, these calls are routed to a recording that tells the caller you will not take the call.

With Call Screen, you can also program your telephone to reject calls from the number of last person who called. This allows you to block calls even if you do not know the phone number. Most phone companies charge a monthly fee for this service.

However, Call Screen is not a foolproof way to stop unwelcome calls. A determined caller can move to a different phone number to bypass the block. Also, Call Screen does not work on long distance calls from outside your service area.

You can also use Priority Ringing:
You can assign a special ring to calls from up to 10 numbers – calls you are most likely to want to answer. The rest can be routed to voice mail. There are ways callers can get around Priority Ringing when it is used as a screening tool. Harasser can switch phone lines and avoid the distinctive ring.

You can try Call Return (*69):
This service allows you to call back the number of last person who called, even if you are unable to answer the phone. Some people suggest that call return can be used to stop harassing callers by allowing you to call the harasser back without knowing their phone number. Use caution with this method of discouraging harassing callers, however, as it could actually aggravate the problem. This service is paid on a per-use basis.

You can use caller id to identify the caller if they are not blocking their number or use a service offered by most phone companies called Privacy Manager. It works with Caller ID to identify incoming calls that have no telephone numbers. Calls identified as “anonymous,” unavailable,” out of area” or “private” must identify themselves in order to complete the call.

Before your phone rings, a recorded message instructs the caller to unblock the call, enter a code number (like inbound call blocking devices mentioned above), or record their name. When your phone rings, you can choose to accept or reject the call, send it to voice mail, or send a special message to telemarketers instructing them to put you on their “do not call” list.

What does it mean when sometimes my phone rings and there is no one on the line?
Oftentimes, when you receive frequent hang ups on your phone line it could be that someone is checking to see if you are home or its simply harassment. It could also be calls from telemarketers who use computers for “predictive dialing” to call consumers where the computer dials many phone numbers in a short period of time. When anyone answers, the computer finds a sales representative who is not occupied at that time and connects the call.

If all sales reps are busy then consumer may hear only silence. These type of calls are called “abandoned calls.” If you are receiving many abandoned calls in a day, you can call the annoyance department of your local phone company. If these repeated calls are from a malicious individual who is harassing you rather than a telemarketer, the phone company will generally report the number to law enforcement.

Is There a Way To Get Rid Of Acne In a Proven Way

Posted by Dan on Jan 31, 2009 in Lucky Hit

Many people think that getting rid of acne can seem difficult, if not completely impossible. Many people have tried many unsuccessful acne products to eliminate acne. But, you should be aware that it is possible to get rid of acne once you understand how.

Let’s start by quickly reviewing why most drug store acne products that are available over-the-counter just don’t work. It’s important to understand these reasons if you truly want to get rid of your acne.

The problem with these products is that they only cover up or treat acne AFTER pimples have already appeared. They just act as a band-aid measure by trying to deal with one zit at a time after you’ve already had an outbreak. They do nothing to treat the actual cause of the problem.

For a true and lasting acne cure, you must use a treatment that actually treats the problem. There are four specific causes of acne, including an excess of oil on the skin, acne-causing bacteria, inflammation of the skin, and plugged up pores. In order to effectively cure your acne, you need to target all of the causes.

It’s nice to see how quickly you can get relief from acne if you use the right treatments. In under a week, your skin will become clearer and healthier than you would have thought possible. It’s a wonderful feeling when you actually see the results in the mirror. You should also check out acne treatment reviews to discover what the best treatments are.

Getting rid of acne is far from impossible. Truthfully, it’s quite simple once you have the right acne treatment system in hand.

Anti-aging Skincare Tips

Posted by Dan on Jan 29, 2009 in Lucky Hit

While getting older is inevitable and beyond our control, the way we look as we age is something we can actively take control of.  Everyone eventually gets some wrinkles and lines but the amount of wrinkles and lines is something that we do have some control over. Here are some basic tips on anti-aging care for your skin that will help diminish the tell tale signs of aging… Wrinkles, crows feet, and laugh lines

Avoid too much exposure to the sun

The sun’s ultraviolet rays are one of the skin’s biggest enemies and a leading cause of aging.  Those that practice tanning are often at a greater risk for prematurely aged skin including liver spots and wrinkles.  They are also at a greater risk for skin cancer.

It is imperative that you use a sun block when outside for any length of time even though you may not think you need it. Most facial cosmetics have a sun block built in but if you use products that don’t or don’t use makeup on your face you may want to consider a sun block. Using a sun block is great but keeping yourself out of the sun is even better.  Avoid tanning and tanning beds.  Wear a hat when playing golf or other sports or working in the yard.

Moisturize your skin

All those harmful elements that the skin faces every day – wind, sun, pollutants – sap moisture from the skin’s surface. Adding moisture every day gives the skin’s outer surface a chance to absorb this and also acts as a protection against those harmful elements.

Tip from the experts:  Using a moisturizer at night is important because this is when the body regenerates itself and this gives the body enough time to remain undisturbed so that it can absorb as much moisturizer as possible. A moisturizer in the morning is also helpful because it helps the skin to fight off the harmful elements during the day and for women, can help makeup to adhere better.

Hydration

When skin is properly hydrated it is much more equipped to fight off those pollutants and irritants throughout the day and less likely to wrinkle.  When it is dry and dehydrated this job is that much more difficult.

If you can’t drink water then try something else that keeps you hydrated, such as fruit juice.  Foods to eat include:

  •  Apples
  •  Watermelons
  •  Citrus fruits of all varieties, including oranges, lemons, limes, grapefruit
  •  Leafy green vegetables
  •  Tomatoes

By keeping yourself properly hydrated you’re plumping up your collagen levels and keeping them healthy for as long as possible.  The more moisture you have in your system the healthier your skin will be over the long run.

Antioxidants

Antioxidant products usually are very high concentrations of vitamins as these are necessary to attack free radicals and to help the body repair damaged cells as well as to grow new, healthy cells. You can of course purchase antioxidant products and moisturizers, but plain vitamin E oil is all you need to apply to your skin.

Anti-Aging Skin Care Products

Be careful of relying too heavily on anti-aging skin care products.  Most work as good moisturizers but these products just cannot penetrate the layers of skin the way they should in order to actually repair or replace the body’s own collagen. The best products you can use from your pharmacy or makeup counter are going to be those with high levels of vitamins E and A, or just vitamin E oil on its own.

If you are over 45 and suffering from low human growth hormone (hgh) secretion levels, then Gen F20 HGH Releaser may help to increase your hgh levels which in turn improves the look and feel of your skin, and decreases fat while increasing lean muscle.
Negative lifestyle factors like smoking, drinking, poor eating habits, not enough sleep, and little or no exercise reduce the effects of Gen F20.

Exfoliate Regularly

Taking off the top layer of skin may sound rather harsh but remember that this is a process your skin is supposed to go through naturally every month or so, as those bottom layers push up and remove the top layers naturally. You can help this process along by exfoliating on a regular basis.

Regular Exercise

Delivering that needed nourishment and helping your skin to get rid of dead cells and impurities is so important for it to renew and rejuvenate itself and regular exercise accomplishes both of these steps.  This increased blood circulation means better health for your system overall and of course the healthier you are in all your systems the healthier your skin is going to look.

Dog Collars And Training

Posted by Dan on Jan 29, 2009 in Lucky Hit

There are many types of dog collars. These collars range from obedience collars all the way to pretty little designer collars.

Buckle collars are the most common type of dog collar. They come in two different forms being flat or rolled. You want to use rolled buckled collars for larger dogs and the flat buckled collars for smaller dogs. They are ideal for dog training basics.

Another type of dog collar is the quick release collar which has a snapping mechanism like those found on a backpack. These types of collars are less useful for using as dog training collars as the snaps can break especially when used on bigger dogs. This is not what you want when you’re learning how to train a dog to stay.

Some collars are designed especially for training like the choke chain and this works exactly how it sounds. It is a chain linked collar that chokes your dog when it reaches to far. Some people regard them as a wonderful teaching aid, others regard them as cruel.

Another type of collar is what is called a head collar. This collar is placed on your dog’s head and helps to prevent the dog from pulling when being walked. It is designed to only be used when walking your dog and not for everyday wear.

Always make sure that the dog collar fits properly by sticking your fingers underneath the collar. If a couple of your fingers can fit between the dog collar and your dog’s neck, then it is fitted properly. If you cannot then the dog collar is too tight.

Can You Really Cure Acne?

Posted by Dan on Jan 28, 2009 in Lucky Hit

The action of hormones on the sebaceous glands of the skin is what causes the skin disorder known as acne. It is most common among teens and young adults, although mature adults and infants are sometimes affected. People have been suffering from acne for centuries. However, after all this suffering the question still needs an answer…can you actually cure acne?

With so many people dealing with this disorder it’s no wonder the market is inundated with a slew of so called acne cures. Most dermatologists and doctors would probably deny the fact that acne cures actually exist even though some acne medicines like accutane do provide relief for certain acne sufferers.

Many acne sufferers will resort to over-the-counter products like non-prescription acne cleansers, astringents, pimple creams, and moisturizers. These usually help unplug whiteheads and blackheads and encourage the skin to peel off.

Other prescription topical antibiotics help fight acne by means of killing the bacteria that infect the pores. However some bacteria may become resistant to these forms of acne cures, rendering them useless over a longer period of use. Dryness, redness, and irritation are some of the side effects that may occur with these products.

Oral anitbiotics are another option which relieve acne by killing the bacteria. Some side effects to be considered before taking oral antibiotics are nausea and dizziness.

What may be the most controversial alternative are vitamin A derivatives. They work by preventing skin cells from clumping together and promoting the shedding of the skin. Irritation, redness and dryness are a number of side effects to consider with this option. Most notably there have even been some cases reported that may have attributed some psychological disorders and birth defects to the use of these derivatives so much care and caution must be used if considering this route.

As always, prevention is easier than curing. As the old saying goes, “an ounce of prevention is like a pound of cure”!And as always, consult with your doctor before beginning or trying any medical treatment.

Cold Sores – Are They Really That Dangerous?

Posted by Dan on Jan 28, 2009 in Lucky Hit

Under normal circumstances cold sores are not really classed as something dangerous. This being said, even if they aren’t life-threatening, they can still be deemed as a danger. A particular issue with them is the fact that they are formed by what is known as the herpes simplex virus and new cold sores are formed when these herpes virus’ get into the healthy cells of the body. It then stimulates these cells to form new incidences of the virus, spreading throughout the body at the same time. When there are too many of the viruses building up in one particular area, they form a cold sore.

One of the most dangerous aspects of a cold sore is the fact that it is incredibly contagious. It remains contagious during the entire two or three weeks that they are visible. Any one who comes in contact with the fluid that leaks out of the sore has a very large chance of being infected, and once infected, they can never be rid of the virus. The virus will also be present in all of your bodily fluids, including semen, vaginal fluids, and saliva.

If you are pregnant, the cold sore presents another danger. Because the virus is present in vaginal fluids, doctors will not allow you to have a vaginal delivery. This is because it is possible the baby could become infected with herpes during birth. In fact, the baby could actually get herpes in his or her eyes, a very real threat that could cause blindness.

Cold sores in the eyes, in fact, can cause permanent damage to anyone, not simply babies. If the sores spread to your eyes, you may find yourself facing permanent blindness as they can damage your cornea. While cold sores don’t often appear on the eyes naturally, the virus can move to your eyes if you wipe your eyes with a towel or your fingers after touching it.

As you can see, a cold sore can indeed be very dangerous, especially if you aren’t careful. You should do your best to keep your hands clean; wash them frequently, especially if you touch the area around your cold sore.

Audio conferencing is not as important to me right now since my business is small and I can manage with other systems.I confess, I did nothing to compare other services like the audio conference service here. I don’t mind getting less commissions because I sign up at the lower price point, as long as I get the equivalent services at WebProsperity.com When I am ready to use the additional services, I know it will be feasible to upgrade to the higher level.

When WebProsperity Launches it should be a much more accurate and thorough evaluation of their support and services.By interacting with them via blog, email, Skype or phone to have my questions answered, I will be in a better position to make some assessment of the quality of their support and service. I will also have a more clear idea of how the mail contact system works. Join a WebProsperity Team that is strong and prospering already, like this one.Take most of the risk right out of your decision.

Puppy Grooming Socialization: Nail Trimming Conditioning Steps For Young Puppies

Posted by Dan on Jan 27, 2009 in Lucky Hit

If all puppies sat like good little girls and boys when they are having their nails trimmed, it would be a perfect word! Like most children though, puppies don’t like to sit still and they are just way too curious to be still! This is no cause though to ignore cutting your puppy’s toe nails. By not cutting their nails they can grow and splitter and become sore and infected. If you are looking for some denim dog skirt then be sure to pick up some right now!

They can even get caught on other things that could rip the nail to the nerve or artery causing grave injury to your puppy. It is very easy, even with the most rambunctious of puppies to trim their nails with a few easy guidelines. First off, get your puppy associated in a positive way with you holding them on your lap and touching their paws. You can easily find some pink dog dresses right away for your new puppy!

This could be done as a play activity. The point is to get them familiar with you touching and holding their paws. So as a first guideline touch your puppy’s paw while using your clicker and click the same time you are touching their paws. Then give them a treat. If your pup pulls back, go a bit slower. You want them to be at ease during this.

Secondly, once your dog is comfortable with having his paw touched, push the envelope a bit further by picking up his paw and moving it around. Whenever he lets you do so without flinching, click and offer a treat. This is giving your dog a positive association to go with this experience. Now it is time to introduce the nail clipper to your puppy, but do not click just yet!

The first stage in the process is to get the dog used to having this shiny piece of metal up and close around its paws. Whenever he sniffs at the nail trimmer and does not appear to be scared, click and offer a treat. This can seem like a lot of work, but your patience will be rewarded! The next baby step in this process is to fit the nail clipper over each of your puppy’s nails, but without clipping. Just add a little pressure. And again, click and treat when he appears to accept this activity. Also you will want to be sure to pick up some heated dog bed right away for your loving pet.

Finally you are ready, so in this last step, clip the first nail, click your clicker, and offer a treat to your puppy. Be sure to be enthusiastic with lots of affection. When you feel he is ready for the next nail, move forward and clip the rest in a timed fashion. Remember to go slow and make the process fun.
