Why I Choose a Jogging Stroller

Posted by Dan on May 31, 2009 in Lucky Hit

I was running on the treadmill at my local gym when a new mother hopped onto the treadmill next to me. Much to my surprise she was holding her baby. I asked her why she was carrying that new baby on a treadmill. She said she couldn’t bear to part with her little one, yet still wanted to get a workout in. After about ten minutes she was extremely tired and her baby was crying. Now what? Well within a few days I saw her again. This time she wasn’t at the gym. She was running outside the gym. She was jogging behind her nice, new jogging stroller. Mom was happier and her baby was happy too.

I have had several moms e-mail and ask “Is a jogging stroller right for me?” Well there are a few factors to consider.

First, if you prefer to run on the treadmill at the gym then you probably won’t need a jogging stroller. However, if you are like me and enjoy running outside and spending time with your baby then a jogging stroller is the best way to go.

When you choose to buy a jogging stroller don’t forget important safety features like a hand brake and wheel locks for easy stopping, safety belts and the five point harness. Your child’s safety should always come first. The five point harness is great for toddlers and small children.

Also consider your child’s comfort. You may want to look into a reclining seat and a canopy. It is also a good idea to wait until your child is holding his or her head up and sitting independently before using the jogging stroller. However, there are safety products you can buy if you would like to use your jogging stroller sooner.

When we’re running in cool or cold weather, we may be hot or comfortable in minimal clothing, but a child is not doing the exercise. Don’t forget to dress your little one in warm clothes, especially if you’re running or walking in the wind. Short runs are best with your child. Competing while pushing your running stroller is not recommended.

I prefer a jogging stroller versus a regular stroller because I enjoy being outside. I have found that my jogging stroller makes it a lot easier to push on non-paved roads and it moves at a faster pace

Take Online Surveys for Money!

Posted by Dan on May 30, 2009 in Lucky Hit

Increase your income by participating in legitimate paid surveys!

Most ways to make money on the Internet require some special skills and training and some technical skills in order to get started. Many require a substantial investment in websites, domain names and specialized contractors. There are exceptions, like participating in paid marketing research and taking surveys for cash.

You see, most large companies have no real contact with consumers, the people who ultimately decide whether to buy their products or someone else’s. Just go into a supermarket and look around. Thousands of products from thousands of big companies, none of which are there!

So they hire market researchers to find out. The market researchers use online surveys to measure consumer opinion. This is big business on the Internet, with thousands of surveys being taken every week.

There is real money in this. Just one market research company, Greenfield Online, paid out over $2 million in 2007 and closer to $4 million in 2008! Payment is by checks in the mail or deposits directly in your Paypal account. It’s fast and easy. All you have to do is give your honest opinion…

That is how a survey for cash can be your key to more income.

Taking free paid surveys for cash is a great way for thousands of people to make extra money. Why not join them?

Care For Your Trading Cards

Posted by Dan on May 29, 2009 in Lucky Hit

Who doesn’t simply love a collectible card game? They come in all types and styles and are very popular currently. Just about every kid and many adults have at least one set of these specially designed collectible cards. There are many different themes as well. Many of the most collected cards seem to be fantasy-related. However, you can also find sets with interesting cartoon characters and others with exciting sci-fi themes. They are usually family-friendly so everyone can join in the game.

Online games became a big fad, but few parents liked to see their kids sitting in front of a computer day in and day out. And the kids get bored of it, too. They like to be able to actually sit down with their friends and interact in adventurous kids games with some exciting plots and twists. Besides, it’s much more personal to sit down with a pal and play a game. It does more to test your ability and intelligence. But these kids games have a lot more going for them than just the game. They can turn out to be something that increases in value.

Anyone who values his or her trading card game will want to protect it. The original set they purchase really should last forever. There’s no reason for it not to if you look after it. There a few things you can do, easily, to keep your cards in top condition.

Rather than depend on the small card box your cards came in, you can get custom card boxes to hold your cards. These will protect them better than a flimsy cardboard one. You can also buy plastic card sleeves. They are fairly inexpensive and are the very best to keep your cards in mint condition.

To understand your objective and to understand what “perfect condition” really is, here are some descriptions of the conditions in which you may find cards. First you have a card that is considered in mint condition. In this case there are no imperfections in the printing on the card, and there’s no damage at all to the card itself. Although keeping your cards in mint condition is preferable, they will still hold much of their value if they are in what’s called “near mint” condition. Also known as “factory fresh,” collectible cards in this condition may have a very slight variation, or there may be a little damage from handling or storing the cards, but you have to look very closely to notice.

If your collectible cards are in excellent condition, there may be a bent corner or some other minor problem. The descriptions of condition go down from there, to “fine” or “very good,” then “good” followed by “fair.” Fair condition presents trading cards with severe creases or the corners worn off completely. The “poor” condition is the worst of all. Here you have a seriously damaged card and probably won’t have any remaining value in it at all. Only if it is a very rare card or a limited edition will it maintain any value at all.

Of course, you don’t want to end up with any of these lower conditions, but want your cards to stay at least in near mint condition. They will look great and at some time in the future should you wish to sell or trade them, you can get the best price.

Wedding Photo Guide

Posted by Dan on May 27, 2009 in Lucky Hit

A family member has asked you to take pictures of their wedding, and you are worried because you’ve never done it before. They may have decided not to hire a professional photographer and instead are relying on you to take pictures for them.

You feel the pressure, and want to make sure you do the best job possible. Here are ten guidelines to help you from Jim Whitesell, a Edmonton wedding photographer:

1. Use the best equipment possible

A small point-and-shoot camera is fine for capturing family memories, but doesn’t do as well as a digital SLR with an external flash. The focus time, shutter delay, and limited reach of the small built-in flash will all cause problems for you. If you do not own or have access to a digital SLR camera and external flash, you can probably rent them from a camera store. Be sure to test and practice with the camera before the wedding day! A professional will likely have multiple lenses as well, but this is often beyond the ability of a casual shooter.

2. Take at least two memory cards

Although it doesn’t happen often, memory cards can fail. Keeping an extra card with you is cheap insurance that will keep you shooting if your card does quit working. Be sure the cards are of ample size so you don’t run out of space half-way through the night. 4GB is the minimum size you should have with you.

3. Batteries, batteries, batteries

Be sure to charge the camera batteries the night before, and preferably have a second battery charged and ready. Most external flash units use AA batteries so have a couple extra sets of these, too.

4. Attend the rehearsal

Taking pictures at the rehearsal is the best way to be prepared for the pictures you’ll take at the actual ceremony. You’ll have a feel for where to position yourself for the best shots. While a professional wedding photographer won’t usually shoot at the rehearsal, they will often show up to not only reassure the bride and groom that they are prepared for the next day but also to scope out the building. Their experience will enable them to know where the best shots are just by seeing the facility.

5. Posing the bridal party

When taking formal pictures of the bridal party, pay attention to the details. Make sure everyone’s face is visible, and note the placement of hands and feet. Pleasing poses are key.

6. Photographing the ceremony

If the wedding will take place inside a church, you’ll need to shoot the ceremony without flash. Use a tripod to hold the camera steady or camera shake caused by longer exposure times will likely ruin the pictures.

7. Shooting the reception

If possible, try to get a shot or two of the reception hall before everyone arrives. Takes some shots of other details, too – like the head table decorations, cake, etc. Once things are underway, it’s always nice to go table-to-table and get pictures of all the guests.

8. Shoot the details

Take pictures of the little details. The rings, bridal bouquet, ring bearer, flower girl, bride’s shoes, etc. are all great details to capture and the bride will be quite pleased to have these.

9. Capture the fun

There are always fun, unplanned moments that make each wedding unique and memorable. Always have your camera ready to capture the moment!

10. Back up the photos

As soon as possible after the wedding, burn all the original images to a CD or DVD for safekeeping. Do this before you make any changes to them. If you accidentally delete an important picture or have a computer failure you’ll still have the originals to fall back on. Even a professional low cost wedding photographer will make backups.

Your friends have entrusted you with a very important task. The pictures are the best way to remember the wedding and all the fun details. While a professional wedding photographer will do a better job, brides and grooms with limited funds may not have the ability to hire one.

If you aren’t up to the task, why not go ahead and pay for all or part of a professional photographer’s fee as your gift to the newlyweds? And if you just happen to be near Edmonton, Alberta, I highly recommend you check out Jim Whitesell’s website for Edmonton wedding photos.

Let With The Option To Own Your Own Home

Posted by Dan on May 26, 2009 in Lucky Hit

In the early days of our marriage we needed to let our property because we had little credit rating that would allow us to purchase a home of our own, using a home loan. Adding to this it was also difficult to save up for the required down payment that the mortgage provider wanted from us.

We could have got off to a much better start if we knew about renting with the option to purchase our own home. We could have actually saved thousands of dollars in wasted rental payments.

Our financial loss during those early years was not really lost. We ended up learning a great deal of real life information about how to rent and build up a down payment to gain equity in the same home that we were renting. The concept was so simple, that we kicked ourselves once we learnt these little known secrets.

Over the last ten years we first discovered the rent to buy homes niche, and since then, we have never looked back. We found over this time, that many people would ask us very similar questions of how to put together a lease with the option to purchase deal. This eventually led us to creating the first DIY Rent To Buy Houses home study manual. Many guides on the market that are remotely similar to this manual, are aimed at helping investors to get the best cash on cash return on investment. Not this manual.

The DIY Rent To Buy Houses manual was created purely for people who are hopelessly stuck in the rental trap, and wanted to learn how to put together a deal of their own, and in doing so, save thousands of dollars because they could bypass using the services of an investor. The typical profit margin of rent to buy property investors tends to exceed thirty thousand dollars. The cost of the DIY Rent To Buy Houses manual is positioned to be the average cost of one to two weeks of the average lease payments.

Visit http://www.DIYRentToBuyHouses.com.au to find out how you can become a home owner, and say goodbye to renting for good.
